ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka is expecting more Chinese firms to invest in export sectors Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had said at a meeting with visiting Community Party Politburo member Yang Jiechi who had also pledged to buy more goods from the island.

This is the highest level visit of a Chinese official to South Asia since the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Yang Jiechi had congratulated PM Rajapaksa on his election victory.

A all time the Chinese government was encouraging their companies to invest in Sri Lanka, a statement from Prime Minister Rajapaksa’s office said.

China is already investing Colombo Port City and purchase of trade goods from Sri Lanka has also been increased Yang had said.
